Touch ranger team
Just for the fun of it a guild member and myself are trying out a 6 man touch ranger team with a 2 man MM as well.
We are doing PvE with hero's and setting up 2 hero rangers each and 1 necro MM with Vampiric Minions.
I just got the Nightfall necro oalis (spelling) hero unlocked on my toon last night.
All I can say is this.. WOW
6 touch rangers - I can do 68 damage each per second myself and with 6 touch rangers that's over 400 damage in the first second since we can target the SAME foe. We have enough energy to do this for 16 or more seconds as we have offering of blood for the elite. That's a massive 6,528 damage!
We could then drop most foes in 3 seconds barely touching our energy output. No monk needed. The MM would just clean up the corpses and with Vampiric minions the heath is abounding so much so that I could just sit back and watch the mayhem around me.
Blood ritual on all of the Touchies keeps the energy flowing too...
My question is..
Does this work in Hard Mode or do I need to sub out one of the Touch ranger for a monk for a team looking like -
4 touch rangers 2 MM and 2 Monks
This would reduce the damage output by the touchies thought. A quick death is better than a slow kill that's for sure.
Any other thoughts?

Why touch rangers? Splinter can do much more damage.
So can Incendiary + Ignite Arrows + Ebon Standard.
Or a scythe.
Blood ritual + melee = dead necro.
Also, 6 monks using Ray of Judgment not only have more support, survivability and healing, but also they have a ranged and non-scattering AoE Holy Damage.
Loled at Oalis.

Humm interesting. I like the tough ranger. Its fun. Most importantly it works..everywhere. Kills are fast and the damage is guaranteed for extra fun I can plant traps and make myself bleed and then pass it on to the foe for 25 seconds. Not that they last that long. It is super fun though.
Ranger is by far most versatile

any kind of disruption, kd, decreased movement/skill activation/skill recharge speed hex, snare/trap, and ranged condition can comprimise your party's ability to touch anything (e.g. not being able to heal yourself) which can lead to a quick demise. I would think anything in HM would screw your team seeing that monsters attack quicker, hit harder, are stronger, scatter against certain AoE touch spells (might be mistaken on this), and follow for a longer period - which doesn't help if your trying to run away bleeding and/or crippled, etc. Besides, touching is not party wide healing like a monk or paragon would provide. To demonstrate, say you get hit for -200hp by one hit in HM, you would have to *by yourself* steal >200hp from the monster which is 3.5x the amount provided in one touch...so 1 monster hit in HM is roughly equal to 3 of your touches...monsters hit a lot more than once per 3 seconds, assuming you could get 3 (or more) touches off in 3 seconds and not be interrupted and/or kd'ed while attempting to do so...I guess [unholy feast] would provide 3x68hp (or +204hp for you), but the recharge on that isn't gonna save you.
I play a touch ranger solo in UW NM, which is a great time and is really only one of two things rangers can do solo in UW (the other being trapping). So long as your having fun and your builds are working for you that's really all that matters. But, not so sure they will be as pwning as you might think once you get to HM...

Vanquish Snake Dance, I dare you. Have fun with the Tundra Giant's ranged knockdown. I think you'll find difficulty trying this in hard mode. It can be fun to run a bunch of touchies once in a while. Don't expect universal success; there are a number of counters.

Whatever is fun I say go for it. As For HM, as long as you have sabway/discordway, or even ROJway, (though I still think it is inferior to discord or sayway because of the way heros use it) then you should be fine. Though be warned of the more difficult areas in HM or dungeons in HM. As said before if you have ppl splinter and other skills do way more damage, or with some pve skills, you can make yourself a 1 man spiker killing of individual targets quickly. In HM dungeons you are going to be a bit more balanced.
(side note, I still cannot believe that all dungeons can be done with 3 ppl)

Touch ranger DPS is 43 max (the two vamp touches), even less on long term because of energy issues.

Vazze - Energy is no issue with this build cause everyone has Blood ritual so..you can get +9 energy renewal constant with 4 touchies.
However... I did get JIN!! (spelling) and what a blast! You guys are right about the HM. I need Protective Spirit while running in. The degen is as simple as Antidote signet so that one is solved with Troll Ungent before running in with a protection monk behind me.
So the 8 man now looks like 4 touch rangers an 1 MM olias and 3 Hero monks all with the protective spirit. That lets us run in with whirling defense and start touching. Once we are in range - and all target the same foe - they die really fast. I mean really fast.

Blood ritual has 2s cast time (+0.75 aftercast), during this time you are not touching: one way or another, your DPS is going down a bit. But these are minor things, important is: the "68 damage per second" that you claimed is way off.
